France, Russia: Speed Cameras Poked, Burned
Vigilantes shoved a speed camera in Russia and set a pair of French cameras on fire last week.

Tipped Russian speed cameraA motorist tipped a mobile speed camera in Yekaterinburg, Russia on June 8, Newday News reported. The young man pulled over on the side of the road, grabbed a baseball bat out of his trunk, and gently nudged the tripod-mounted automated ticketing machine until the camera pointed skyward. An older, much larger man who worked for the speed camera company confronted the motorist and forced him to leave. The photo radar operator repositioned the camera to resume ticketing.

In Etalans, France, vigilantes set fire to a speed camera last week Sunday. According to L'Est Republicain, the mobile photo radar unit had been cleverly hidden beind a bush to ticket motorists traveling from Pontarlier. The same fate befell the speed camera in Louhossoa last week Monday, Sud Ouest reported.
