UK: Cumbria Speed Camera Sliced
Vigilantes cut down Cumbria, UK speed camera with an angle grinder.

Vigilantes with an angle grinder sliced a speed camera off its pole in Cumbria, England on January 9. The automated ticketing machine had been located on the A65 in Kirkby, Lonsdale, the News and Star newspaper reported. Officials estimated the damage at £30,000 (US $50,000), not counting the revenue lost while the camera is out of service.

Vigilantes have taken on cameras in the county on several previous occasions. In 2008, a camera on the A580 was burned. In 2006, a camera on the A595 was necklaced with a burning tire.
