UK: Harass Your Neighbors With Your Own Radar Gun
Police give people with apparently no other job the chance to harass anybody they don't like with mobile radar gun.

Mobile radar gun
Police in Wales, UK are giving eight neighborhood residents their own radar guns so that they can record the registrations of passing cars and send it on to the police so that they will issue a warning letter. The program is two years old in England, and has popped up in the US. What's worth noting is the idea of giving the loudest people with, apparently, nothing better to do, a tool to harass neighbors (especially the ones they don't like), hasn't died yet.

Article Excerpt:
Working in pairs, the volunteers will record the registrations of anyone they catch speeding and pass the details onto the police.

The police will then send out warning letters advising drivers they have been caught speeding and urging them to obey the law in future.
