UK Speed Camera Vandalized Before Camera Was Installed
Surrey, UK camera speed trap set on fire before the camera arrived.

Speed camera opponents in Surrey, UK jumped the gun. On Monday morning, motorcycle tires used to set fire to a automated speed trap ended up destroying an empty housing just days after its installation on the Mickleham bends -- the £40,000 camera unit had not yet been placed inside the housing. Local officials estimate the damage at £1000.

Article Excerpt:
After all the months spent waiting for it to be installed, Surrey's safety camera partnership has been angered by the vandalism. Duncan Knox, who heads-up the scheme, said: "These incidents are rare but are taken seriously."
